Caryl takes MOCSA Title

  Caryl Hughes, a Mezzo-Soprano from Aberdaron in Gwynedd, has become the latest winer of the prestigious MOCSA, Young Welsh Singer of the Year competition. Caryl was the unanimous choice of the adjudicators, who included former finalist, Jason Howard, at the final of the competition, held at Swansea's Brangwyn Hall on Saturday September 16. Caryl joins a long line of former winners, many of who have gone on to establish international reputations,such as Rebecca Evans and Bryn Terfel.

As well as the title, Caryl becomes the first recipient of the new MOCSA trophy. The trophy, designed  by the Architectural Glass Department of Swansea Institute of Higher Education, is sponsored by West Wales Renault dealer Gravells in celebration of what was the 30th annual MOCSA  competiton.
