Orpheus help Launch the New Red Lion

It had been a favourite, post rehearsal, watering hole of the Choir in the past and when the opportunity came to re-establish the Choir's link with the Red Lion in Morriston, it was welcomed.

The pub has recently been taken over by Wetherspoons and has undergone a major makeover and re-fit. There is a strong emphasis on the local community with Morriston related photographs adorning the walls. The Orpheus has its own special area with a number of photographs on display highlighting its history.

The Management Team of Andrea Morris and Carl Jones welcomed special guests to a pre-opening event earlier this month and the Choir was delighted to accept an invitation to attend and to provide some entertainment.

It wasn't all work however as the evening also saw the launch of a new beer, especially brewed for The Red Lion by Swansea brewers Tomas Watkin's. The beer, called MOC after the Choir, was given the "thumbs up" by the Orpheus' real ale aficionados and is sure to be a popular addition to the fine range of beers and ales already available at The Red Lion.

Here are some pictures from the evening:

Cheers !
