Victory at Nelson's Trafalgar

Victory indeed as the audience at tonight's concert at Nelson's Trafalgar Centre rose in appreciation of our "goodbye" concert to New Zealand's South Island. Another new dress style for the Choir with black shirts and no jackets providing the more casual style for the Leisure Centre venue.

It was goodbye too to accompanist Jo Scullin who returns to the UK tomorrow. Jo originally joined the first half of the tour as part of her induction into the accompanist role which she takes up, with Sally Tarlton, in June. However with the need for current accompanist Joy Amman Davies to return to the UK shortly into the tour, Jo, along with organist Jan Ball took on a much more active role, Jo has risen to the occasion magnificently and all associated with the Orpheus thank her for her tremendous contribution and wish her a safe journey back to the UK.

Tomorrow sees the Choir head for Wellington on New  Zealands North Island. However it is not going to be the straight forward journey we anticipated. More about that tomorrow !
