85 Years and Still Going Strong

It was on 23 April 1935 that the Morriston Orpheus Choir held its first rehearsal. Its founder conductor Ivor E Sims was the first of just seven Musical Directors who have guided the Choir over the past 85 years. 85 years which have seen the Choir go from strength to strength, entertaining audiences at home and abroad.

At a time when the UK is in 'lockdown' fighting the impact of Corona Virus, birthday celebrations have to be put on hold. We did want to take the opportunity however to pay tribute to those Musical Directors who have contributed so much to establishing the Orpheus as the 'Ambassadors of Song'.
