Entries were received from the UK’s leading music colleges and, once again, the high calibre of entry made the task of selecting just three finalists a difficult one. The decision has been made however and the three finalists for this year’s Competition are, in alphabetical order:
*****************
Matthew James Bawden a 29 year old Tenor from Swansea, studying at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Rhys Meilyr Jones a 23 year old Tenor from Llangefni, studying at The Royal Academy of Music.
Rachel Roper a 23 year old Mezzo Soprano from Hereford (of Welsh parentage), studying at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

The Final of the Competition takes place at a concert in Swansea on Sunday 18 September. The concert will also include a full programme from the Morriston Orpheus Choir who donate the Ivor Sims Memorial Prize of £1500 to the Competition winner.
