Caerleon 2014
Concert at St Cadoc's Church as part of the
|
Until the moment the Choir began their first song there was concern that the capacity audience might not be seated in time - such was the queue, extending through the Churchyard to the Museum down the street. Thankfully, all was well. With the Church tightly packed the eighty strong Choir tested the roof rafters with a powerful performance. The Choir led by musical director Joy Amman Davies made the most of the ecclesiastical acoustics to stunning effect. |
Soloist soprano, Iona Jones, was superb. The scope of programme was global with due emphasis on the Welsh tradition. A truly memorable evening ensued. This was an amazing concert needless to say, I cried my eyes out during their rendition of Steal Away and a number of other songs but managed to compose myself enough to sing the Welsh National Anthem at the end of the concert, A truly wonderful and magical night thank you to all the people who organised this event |
It took quite some time for the audience to disengage from the scene, such was the need to savour what had been and what had passed.Once again, a most amazing evening. Thank you Caerleon Festival for bringing a truly artsy and memorable evening to the village. |
