AN APOLOGY FROM MORRISTON ORPHEUS CHOIR

Press Release                                                                            3 March 2006

SWANSEA  (CWMFELIN CLUB) CONCERT, MARCH 1st.

Following the last-minute cancellation of their recent concert at Cwmfelin Social Club, the Morriston Orpheus Choir extends its sincere apologies to those who turned up for the concert on March 1st.

Unfortunately, many of the Choir and the audience had to travel from surrounding areas which were still affected by snow throughout St. David’s Day, and with further bad weather forecast, the decision was taken late on to cancel the performance.

The concert has now been rescheduled for Wednesday March 8th – and tickets will of course be honoured for that date

Choir General Secretary John Betts said: “We understand how frustrating it must have been for everyone who did attend to find that the concert had been cancelled. “With the inclement weather forecast, we should have made a decision to cancel the concert much earlier, allowing us to publicise this cancellation in good time. We very much apologise for not doing that.

“We hope all those who were due to attend the St David’s Day concert will be able to join with us in a belated celebration of Wales’ national day on March 8th, and we look forward to see everyone then.”
